The Sketch Artist develops expressive visual concepts that help teams explore, communicate, and refine ideas. This role requires strong drawing fundamentals, speed, versatility, and the ability to convert written or verbal direction into clear sketches and presentation-ready artwork. - Create concept sketches, thumbnails, storyboards, characters, environments, objects, and visual
explorations.
- Interpret creative briefs and transform abstract ideas into clear, compelling visual directions.
- Produce quick iterations for review and refine selected concepts into polished drawings.
- Apply strong perspective, anatomy, proportion, composition, lighting, and value principles.
- Collaborate with 3D artists, designers, developers, and creative leads throughout production.
- Maintain organized working files and document revisions clearly.
- Adapt drawing style and level of detail to suit different brands, audiences, and project needs.
Required Qualifications
- A strong portfolio showing observational drawing, concept development, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent freehand drawing skills using traditional and/or digital media.
- Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, or Clip Studio Paint.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, shape language, light, and shadow.
- Ability to accept feedback, iterate efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience creating storyboards, product concepts, character designs, or environment art.
- Ability to prepare clean sketches for use by 3D artists, animators, or production teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted ideation tools while maintaining original artistic judgment.
